We are seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to join our team in San Jose, California. This position is essential to our Logistics department, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are managed with precision and efficiency. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with various carriers, tracking shipments, and ensuring that packages comply with all regulations and company standards. A paramount focus on Safety is expected; all employees must strictly adhere to safety protocols and utilize the necessary PPE . The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication abilities. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain the integrity of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Create and manage all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Liaise with carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor and track shipment progress, providing updates as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure accuracy and proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and hazardous materials guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams regarding shipments.
- Utilize all required PPE during the performance of duties.
- Contribute to the optimization of Logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role within Logistics .
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of workplace Safety .
- Capability of occasional Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Must wear appropriate PPE , including safety glasses and gloves when necessary.
