Basic Function: HCT by kdc/one is seeking a passionate and results-driven Director of Sales to join our Santa Monica team! In this key leadership role, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation managing high-profile client accounts, driving revenue through creative turnkey and packaging solutions, and building lasting partnerships across the beauty industry. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a dynamic background in sales, product development, and project management someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to transform ideas into commercial success. Why You’ll Love This Role: In this role, you’ll collaborate with some of the most exciting beauty brands on the West Coast, ranging from indie startups to global leaders, helping bring innovative, trend-forward products to market. You’ll play a key strategic role, owning major accounts and influencing product direction, innovation strategy, and long-term business growth. With a flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in our lively Santa Monica office and 2 remote), you’ll enjoy the perfect balance of teamwork and autonomy. Responsibilities: Own and grow client relationships by serving as the primary contact for West Coast-based beauty brands, from indie startups to large strategic accounts. Develop and execute strategic account plans tailored to each client, identifying opportunities for growth across packaging and turnkey innovation. Lead concept-to-launch initiatives, working cross-functionally with internal teams (Product Development, Project Management, Regulatory, Operations) to ensure timelines, budgets, and product expectations are met. Present and pitch innovation, trend forecasting, and whitespace solutions to both new and existing clients. Drive turnkey and packaging sales by aligning offerings with brand vision, consumer trends, and commercial viability. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, cost analyses, and proposals for customer meetings, trade shows, and leadership briefings. Serve as a solution-based partner to clients, offering insights, managing challenges proactively, and guiding product strategy. Maintain comprehensive understanding of market trends, raw materials, and competitive landscape to support innovation. Coordinate filling trials, press checks, and production launches with global manufacturing partners to ensure final product quality. Collaborate with marketing and product innovation teams to support seasonal launches and high-impact campaigns. Attend client on-site visits, supplier meetings, and industry tradeshows to maintain relationships and uncover new opportunities. Track performance metrics, sales forecasts, and profitability to ensure alignment with company goals. Partner with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure international documentation is in place for all launches. Act as a mentor to junior sales staff and assist in onboarding and training when applicable. What We’re Looking For in You: 8+ years of progressive sales experience in the beauty, personal care, or cosmetic packaging industry. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field Proven success in managing high-profile accounts and exceeding sales goals. Background in
product development, packaging, or turnkey manufacturing
highly preferred. Deep knowledge of the beauty product development cycle, from ideation to launch. Excellent communication, client presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Self-motivated, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems (Salesforce a plus).
