Salary £27,000 – £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
About the Company My client specialises in fabrication across a range of industries and is looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Cirencester area. Graduates will also be considered.
Qualifications and Attributes
Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (not essential)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.
Solid theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a small multidisciplinary team
Capacity to carry out mechanical calculations
Desirable experience with process machinery or steel/metal materials
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Key Responsibilities
Work within the current engineering team alongside other Design Engineers
Produce 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
Liaise with manufacturing providers
Participate in final assembly of products
Create required documentation for design and project reports/plans
Update 3D models and drawings
Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
Check drawings for sign‑off
Collaborate in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
