We are hiring a meticulous Shipping Clerk for our busy distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for dispatch. Your duties will include verifying order details, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. You will play a vital part in our logistics network, ensuring that products reach their destinations efficiently and without error. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety are essential, as you will be working with shipping documentation and coordinating the movement of goods. Proper use of PPE is required in designated areas. While not primarily a physical role, there may be occasional requirements for lifting of packages. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Generate shipping labels and manifests using our WMS.
- Verify order details against shipping documents.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE .
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including occasional lifting .
- Contribute to the efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and WMS.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to use PPE .
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
