A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and you will be required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting and moving of heavy items, so a good level of fitness is necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to production or shipping areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper working order and report any issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, promoting overall warehouse safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Proven experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including regular lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Experience in logistics is a plus.
