We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to manage and optimize inventory accuracy within our Washington, D.C. logistics facility. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other tracking tools.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to prevent shrinkage and errors.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to improve inventory processes.
- Process receipts and shipments in the WMS, ensuring accuracy.
- Generate inventory reports for management review.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs and moving around the warehouse.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures.
