About The Role
Our client, a respected organization in the public finance sector, is seeking a proactive and tech-savvy
Interim Controller
to support their finance team during a transitional period. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in dynamic environments, takes initiative, and is passionate about driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee accounts payable operations handled by staff accountants
• Review journal entries prepared by the Accounting Manager and ensure financial statement accuracy
• Initiate and manage the budgeting process, including the preparation of tax schedules

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in nonprofit accounting
• Strong systems knowledge, including familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
• Ability to support ERP transition (Sage vs. NetSuite)
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small finance team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP system implementation or conversion
• Demonstrated success in leading process improvements
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with some in-office presence
