Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled System Support Specialist to join our IT team. This role involves providing comprehensive technical support, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and maintaining IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer service-oriented mindset, and extensive knowledge of various operating systems and network management tools. Duties
- Provide end-user support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and applications such as Microsoft Office
- Manage computer systems through Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), SCCM, and other management tools
- Configure and support network components including LAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, firewall settings, and network administration tasks
- Assist with IT infrastructure maintenance including servers (Windows Server), BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, and Meraki network devices
- Support computer hardware setup, installation, upgrades, and repairs
- Monitor system performance and security; implement updates or patches as needed
- Maintain documentation of support activities using ticketing systems such as Help Desk platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and security protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating technical information clearly to non-technical users
Experience
- Proven experience in technical support or IT support roles involving desktop support, network administration, or help desk functions
- Hands-on knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, Linux, and mobile device management
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS; experience with VPNs and firewalls (e.g., Meraki) is preferred
- Experience with computer management tools like SCCM, GPO, Active Directory; familiarity with BMC Remedy or ServiceNow is advantageous
- Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex technical issues quickly and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and customer service in a professional manner
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including LAN setup and network security best practices
This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our IT environment while supporting end-users effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and possess a comprehensive understanding of modern IT support practices.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $ $61.00 per hour
