Are you an early-career litigator looking for hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic legal environment? Underberg & Kessler LLP is seeking a
Litigation Associate Attorney
with
2–3 years of experience
in commercial and/or general civil litigation. This is an opportunity to join a growing litigation team that values mentorship, collaboration, and client service.

Position Overview
Works on a wide range of commercial and general civil litigation matters, representing clients in court, arbitration, and mediation. Drafts motions, manage discovery, and take a hands-on role in developing legal strategies alongside partners and senior attorneys.

Client Representation

• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and procedural motions
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and briefs
• Attend court conferences, assist with depositions, and participate in settlement discussions

Case Management

• Manage a varied caseload under the guidance of senior attorneys
• Handle discovery processes, including document review and production
• Support case strategy development and collaborate closely with partners and clients

Firm & Practice Development

• Participate in practice group meetings, firm-wide training programs and initiatives
• Build strong relationships with clients through consistent communication and service delivery

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial or civil litigation experience
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York State
• Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple matters
• Appellate, creditors' rights, family law, or labor & employment experience is a plus
