Sun Country Industries is the largest aerospace contract manufacturer in the State of New Mexico. We produce hundreds of different jet engine parts across different platforms to support commercial, military, and aero-derivative customers. We operate out of a newly built state-of-the-art facility with 35,000 sq ft of manufacturing space with 30 ft ceilings, ample lighting, and climate control, conveniently located minutes off I40.

Operators and Machinists will be challenged with a high product mix environment and expected to run multiple machines.

Day shift 4-day 10-hour schedules, Monday to Thursday, with potential for overtime

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

· Operate CNC mills and/or lathe machines per work instructions in process control log books.

· Inspect to verify and complete all required documentation as defined by SCI's BMS, to include traveler, inspection and Process Control logs, and SPC charts when applicable.

· Perform above tasks for and be able to run multiple machines when assigned by a Lead.

· Assist in training of other employees on any machine or operation when assigned by Lead.

· Meet established operation times as defined.

· Cross train on any machine assigned to, as determined necessary by Lead.

SKILL REQUIRED INCLUDING CONCURRENT TRAINING

· Ability to read and interpret drawings, understands basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

· Ability to deburr your work without violating dimensions.

· Communication skills to allow clear feedback to teammates.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

JOB CONDITIONS INCLUDING SAFETY

· Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of all people in the area.

· Be responsible for the adherence to safety procedures, and the proper use of safety protective equipment.

· May require extended periods of time standing

· May require moderate lifting (50 lb. max)

· Keep work area and machines neat and clean.

· Clean machine at the end of shift or job.

DIRECT REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

· Reports to the lead person and the Manufacturing Supervisor.

· Can keep a positive attitude in a high-pressure environment.

EXPERIENCE

· 1 year of operating CNC Mill and/or Lathe machines is desired.

EDUCATION

· High school graduate preferred.

· Completed a machinist apprenticeship program or CMM education preferred but not required.
