We offer a monthly $3.00 per patient bonus.
Duties
- Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
- Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes
- Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
- Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients and personnel. Adheres to safety policies.
- Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
- Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department by performing other duties as assigned. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure no interruption of services.
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
- Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required.
- This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.
- To ensure insurance coverage, this position requires successfully meeting requirements of a MVR review
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body and preparing and administering chemical mixtures for diagnostic imaging.
- Knowledge of best practices for patient care in the process of diagnostic imaging.
- Skill in leading and training staff involved in the process of diagnostic imaging.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent driving/sitting in vehicle, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, stooping and speaking
- Reaching overhead to move a mobile x-ray tube or other equipment.
- Ability to manipulate and position mobile x-ray machine and DR plate; machine weighs 100 lbs. on wheels.
- Adjust controls to set exposure factors as required in the performance of radiology tasks.
- Lift, carry, and push/pull bulky, heavy equipment and/or patients using abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly while utilizing good body mechanics up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.
- May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed
- Ability to apply and wear PPE, protective gloves, masks and/or face shield and gown for the purpose of universal or standard precautions.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone
