Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, support children's developmental needs, and help create an engaging educational experience. This role is essential in fostering positive growth and ensuring the safety and well-being of students across various early childhood settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with classroom management, lesson implementation, and student engagement
- Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions
- Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children's social-emotional development through positive interactions and behavior management techniques
- Assist with classroom activities such as arts and crafts, educational games, and learning exercises
- Monitor children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times
- Support early childhood education initiatives by implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the individual needs of each child
- Ability to pass background checks and adhere to safety standards for working with young children
