We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana

What you will work on:
- Maintain HRIS including new hires, terminations, job changes, wages, and/or personal information such as address and name changes.
- Conducts new hire orientation on company benefits and policies
- Maintain policies, reports, procedures and document control for the department
- Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource programs and policies.
- Partners with the union on disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
- Reviews employee timecards and administers employee payroll changes.
- Monitors and reports various HR metrics to Sr. HR Manager.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain and update various databases, spreadsheets, and reports while meeting deadlines.
- Provide support to the team through assigned projects and day-to-day activities.
- Prepares monthly headcount reporting
- Assists with various research and/or special projects
About you:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in business, human resources or related field, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Three plus (3+) years of HR Generalist experience required, experience in a manufacturing union setting is preferred.
- Project coordination and implementation experience is a plus.
- Understanding basic HR business practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Ambitious, with intellectual curiosity and drive to identify challenges and recommend solutions
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Models and leads within our Values.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Knowledge of employment and labor laws with ability to learn and deepen knowledge.
