Position Summary
As a Security Operations Manager, you will be primary provider of communications to staff, helps manage the selection, training and development of staff, assists in career development planning including responsibility for the motivation of staff to meet objectives, formal performance evaluation of staff and is accountable for accomplishment of group objectives. This position will be a key member of the DeSoto leadership team and will provide security leadership and support at all levels.
This position directly works under consultative direction of the Facility Manager, identifies significant security risks, assists in designing and implementing strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of the organization's assets.
Anticipates process partner needs and gives high priority to process partner satisfaction and service. Develops collaborative relationships and provides expertise, technical guidance, and training with leadership and HR partners.
This position assists in the development and management of the capital and expense budget for the security operations. This position communicates to the Facility Manager on status of security issues affecting the campus. This position must possess strong people skills with the ability to interact with and influence senior management to further the site security objectives.
The position is located in DeSoto Texas and is not a remote position. Partial Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Challenges And Accountabilities
- May assume Role of Facility Security Manager (Cat defined role)
- Provide safety and security leadership and training.
- Oversee security technology and deployment throughout the facility (Vision System, Cameras, Badge Readers, etc.).
- Management and mentor security team members. Responsibilities would include shift schedules, training, and documenting security processes and procedures.
- Participate in the interview and hiring of security staff.
- Develop guard succession planning (shift supervisors, weekend supervisors, shift rotations\vacancies).
- Provide emergency response and operational support, as needed
- Manage facility CCTV cameras, monitors, and NVRs. Work with vendors on installation and repair of existing cameras and installation and expansion of new facility cameras.
- Manage facility DSX badge reader system. Work with vendors on installation and repair of existing readers and hardware and installation of new readers to accommodate facility expansion.
- Create DeSoto employee badge creation and access control activation\deactivation program.
- Become facility E911 coordinator and manage\document E911 locations.
- Monitor and manage weather alert system and employee notifications.
- Interact with and contact public agencies such as the locate police department when necessary.
- Act as a liaison between security and various facility departments. Will coordinate with other Solar Security Operations Worldwide to share best practices and ensure consistency.
- Create and track security incident reports and perform security audits.
- Measure and conduct data analysis and reports to address employee security concerns, safety issues, and security issues.
- Conduct and lead security related investigations for theft and break-ins.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence, public service, or private sector security supervision.
- High energy level and sense of urgency, ability to manage multiple priorities and support a 24/7 operation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred (Top Candidate) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in appropriately related discipline.
- Strong Expertise in security surveillance technology and best practices.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Teams, etc.)
- Expertise with proximity security access systems and system design (DSX).
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility environment.
Summary Pay Range:
$120, $180,449.00
