Greenbrier Government Solutions Inc is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled, mid-level Technical Project Manager to manage Information Technology projects supporting mission critical Federal Government initiatives. This position supports hybrid or remote work with occasional travel to customer and company sites.

Project schedules may occasionally require availability outside normal business hours to support customer requirements. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the success of countless high visibility and critical initiatives with a company specializing in modernizing and customizing complex networks, deploying unified communications solutions, and providing expertise in full stack data center solutions.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be assigned to the Project Management Office and report to the Lead Technical Manager for functional direction and the Director of Program Management for administrative direction. In this capacity, you will lead and develop project teams, manage projects from award to closing by understanding requirements, and provide direction and mentorship. You will also proactively monitor and control project statuses to ensure scope, schedule, and budgets are met and risks are identified, scored, and mitigated. In addition, you will cultivate productive stakeholder relationships and proactively communicate project statuses and manage stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and proactively communicate project statuses and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Report regularly to leadership on project performance metrics, risk status, and corrective actions.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate project teams. Foster collaborative and productive work environments including resolving conflicts, providing guidance, and mentoring team members.
  • Manage technical projects of varying complexity, from initiation through completion, in structured and developing environments, ensuring contractual requirements are fulfilled.
  • Assign project tasks, set deadlines, and manage resources ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations are met.
  • Proactively identify, score, and document project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Leverage project management tools and methodologies to track and report project progress, measure performance, and adapt as needed.
  • Oversee final project closing activities including formal sign off, documentation archiving, and lessons learned documentation.

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a government background investigation
  • 3-5 years of project management experience in IT or related field
  • Proficiency in project management principles, tools, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build productive relationships across diverse teams and personalities
  • Excellent presentation skills including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail in managing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Teams
  • Solid understanding of Information Technology systems and infrastructure concepts

Desired Skills, Education and Certifications:

  • Professional certification(s) such as CAPM, PMP
  • Experience managing Federal Government IT projects
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
  • Technical experience or strong working knowledge in the following:
  • Deployment and configuration of Networking and Server Infrastructure solutions
  • Wireless design and implementation including pre/post Site Surveys
  • Cisco Voice implementation and administration
  • Cloud Platforms knowledge and administration
  • Storage technology knowledge and administration
