Kwik Trip is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of HVAC construction and retrofit projects across our expanding network of retail and support facilities. This role combines project management expertise with technical HVAC knowledge to ensure systems are installed efficiently, perform reliably, and meet Kwik Trip's standards for safety, energy efficiency, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead HVAC project execution, including remodels, system replacements, new installations, and emergency replacements
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to establish project scope, budget, and schedules
  • Oversee field execution, conduct job site visits, and ensure adherence to design specifications, timelines, and safety standards
  • Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, RFIs, and change orders
  • Act as primary contact for HVAC contractors and field teams during project execution
  • Manage project budgets and track actuals
  • Manage bid process, evaluate vendor qualifications, and issue project scopes of work
  • Oversee contractor onboarding and ensure alignment with Kwik Trip standards
  • Review invoices and contractor submittals for accuracy and completeness
  • Assess existing systems and develop scopes for upgrades or replacements
  • Lead site investigations and gather system data for design and budgeting
  • Assist with equipment selection and ensure timely delivery for installations
  • Conduct or oversee site commissioning, including equipment startup and system verification
  • Provide technical guidance to service techs, regional facilities, and construction managers
  • Research emerging HVAC technologies and support pilot initiatives
  • Stay informed on code changes, refrigerant regulations, and industry standards

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree in HVAC, Construction Management, Project Management, or related technical field (preferred)
  • 4 to 6 years of experience managing HVAC projects, including hands-on field coordination and contractor oversight
  • Prior experience as a journeyman installer in a commercial setting is a plus
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credential (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC system components, installation practices, and project management methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards, building automation systems, and mechanical design principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project scheduling tools
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable in both office and job site settings

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work: lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and pulling
  • Frequent exposure to low/high temperatures, outdoor elements, and noisy environments
  • Occasional work in small or enclosed spaces
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and occasionally use power tools

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with travel to job sites as needed.
