YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):
The Shift Supervisor will play an important role in supervising the daily activities of the Security Department on the assigned shift and will work closely with Security Manager.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):
- Supervise, train, and evaluate security staff to ensure Team Members receive necessary guidance to accomplish established objectives in accordance with departmental standards
- Ensure proper detainment procedures and detainment techniques are clearly understood and carried out in accordance with civil/criminal laws and company policy and procedures; assist various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed
- Maintain all current information on cheats, thieves, unhoused, etc. to ensure the protection of company assets, patrons, and Team Members; develops and maintains open communications with law enforcement agencies and security personnel of other casinos to relay security information
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure that all areas of proper guest service are adhered to
- Provide support to departmental management in the event of troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations, and procedures as requested
- Handle all drug testing procedures for reasonable suspicion, assuring that Virgin Hotels Las Vegas maintains its' procedures and liability issues
- Ensure that all proper procedures for table games department are correctly implemented and maintained, i.e., files, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- Valid Nevada driver's license is required. Must provide a Nevada motor vehicle report with no points in the last 12 months and no DUI's or reckless driving charges
- Ability to obtain a Nevada gaming license required
- Ability to obtain required safety certifications
- Basic knowledge of Nevada civil and criminal laws
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic, video and alarm functions
- Knowledge and understanding of Nevada laws concerning powers of detainment procedures
- The skills necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent, as well as through two years progressive experience in security operations. Supervisory experience preferred
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend required training sessions offered by Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
- Consult internal control procedures and policy manuals for guidance
- Report illegal activity to the appropriate levels of management
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Spend majority of the shift on the casino floor and hotel property
- Standing and walking for the entire shift. Proper footwear is required
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, smoke, light (including flashing lights), and sound. Exposure to varying weather conditions. Proper protection provided
- Read and write legible reports in English
- Identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations
- Lift up to 60 pounds, and push and pull drop boxes and money carts weighing up to 200 pounds without assistance
- Able to assist sick or injured guests and Team Members
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods
