Job Description:
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project & Delivery Management:
- Take full ownership of the project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and planning to final delivery and stakeholder sign-off.
- Manage and prioritize the team's Book of Work (BoW), ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and clear communication of timelines.
- Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring adherence to Agile best practices.
- Utilize JIRA and Confluence to meticulously track project progress, manage backlogs, and maintain clear, accessible documentation.

2. Technical Oversight & Collaboration:
- Leverage a strong understanding of the Big Data Ecosystem (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HDFS) to facilitate technical discussions and ensure proposed solutions are robust and scalable.
- Collaborate closely with Data Architects and Senior Engineers to review technical designs and ensure they align with project requirements and data engineering best practices.
- Use hands-on SQL skills to perform data analysis, validate deliverables, and assist in troubleshooting data-related issues.
3. Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, ensuring seamless coordination between the development team, QA, business analysts, and external stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and resolve blockers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide regular, clear, and concise status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or a similar role within a Big Data Engineering environment.
- Expert-level understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and extensive hands-on experience managing projects using JIRA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex Book of Work, including prioritization, resource planning, and dependency management.
- Strong comprehension of the Hadoop ecosystem and its core components (e.g., HDFS, Spark, Hive, MapReduce).
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL for complex data querying, analysis, and validation is mandatory.
- Exceptional coordination, tracking, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- A technical background as a Data Engineer, Developer, or Data Analyst.
- < /span>Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Certified ScrumMaster).
