Municipal Engineer (Multiple Locations in Montana)

Position: Municipal Engineer

Priority Locations: Billings, Great Falls, Helena (Montana)

Salary Range per year: $80,000–$140,000 USD Dollar + (DOE — company willing to pay above range for exceptional candidates)

We are seeking a Municipal Engineer to support the planning, design, and construction of municipal water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects across Montana. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in water systems, surface water, wells, potable water, water distribution, sewer collection, and civil site planning.

Responsibilities

* Perform moderately complex engineering calculations using established engineering principles

* Prepare engineering drawings, designs, and technical documents using CAD and engineering software

* Write technical reports, specifications, and correspondence for internal and external audiences

* Coordinate with government agencies, client personnel, consultants, and project stakeholders

* Apply company standards and best practices across all assigned work

* Manage project tasks, scope, schedule, and budget expectations

* Support planning, design, and construction oversight for municipal and land development projects

* Prepare construction documents, specifications, and provide construction administration

* Exercise sound engineering judgment and independent decision-making

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

* Minimum 5+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering

* PE license in Montana or ability to obtain within 6 months

* Experience with rural water and wastewater systems strongly preferred

* Ability to work both independently and in collaborative team environments

* Strong work ethic and excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals

* Valid driver's license with clean driving record
