About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Frontend Web Application Engineer to join our fully distributed engineering team. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and optimizing scalable, high-performance web applications that serve millions of users worldwide. You will work closely with product, design, backend, mobile, and QA teams to create intuitive, accessible, and responsive user interfaces for our sports management platform. Leveraging your expertise in TypeScript and React, you will help shape our frontend architecture, improve code quality, and drive innovation through emerging technologies. Your leadership will also be instrumental in mentoring team members, refining development practices, and implementing best-in-class testing and deployment workflows to ensure reliability and excellence across our web applications.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience building production-scale web applications with React and advanced TypeScript
  • 2+ years in a Staff/Tech-Lead role, guiding frontend architecture, standards, and mentoring senior engineers
  • Proven expertise in integrating RESTful APIs and managing complex UI states using Context API, Redux, Zustand, or similar
  • Hands-on experience developing and evolving component libraries or design systems with a focus on responsive, mobile-first design, design tokens, and theming
  • Strong understanding of modern front-end practices, including component-driven architecture, lazy loading, caching strategies, and performance optimization
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks for unit, snapshot, and end-to-end testing, along with CI/CD pipeline configuration
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define APIs, specify data contracts, and handle asynchronous UI states
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to mentor, influence, and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with performance profiling tools such as Lighthouse and Web Vitals, and caching/CDN strategies
  • Experience leveraging AI tools, code-generation assistants, or large language models to enhance development workflows

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-performance TypeScript and React single-page applications that support complex sports-organization workflows
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to extend and maintain a reusable, accessible, and scalable design system
  • Implement modern front-end best practices, including type safety, component-driven architecture, responsiveness, and performance enhancements
  • Partner with backend, mobile, QA, and product teams to define and refine APIs, ensuring seamless integration and data consistency
  • Mentor and coach team members through code reviews, pair programming, and leading initiatives such as web guilds to elevate engineering practices
  • Maintain application reliability by writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and managing deployment pipelines
  • Lead projects focused on improving code quality, build performance, testing infrastructure, and CI/CD workflows to streamline development cycles
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging web technologies and AI-driven tools to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Continuously explore new trends and innovations in web development, making data-driven recommendations for future enhancements
