Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Specialist to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. This role is critical in maintaining optimal inventory levels, streamlining procurement processes, and supporting overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to process improvements and strategic sourcing initiatives within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, demand planning, and replenishment strategies using ERP systems such as AS400 and other warehouse management tools
- Conduct data mining and analysis to identify trends, root causes of inventory discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, negotiate supplier contracts, and optimize pricing strategies
- Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including order fulfillment and materials handling, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau to present inventory metrics and supply chain analytics for decision-making
- Perform category management, demand forecasting, and supply chain analytics to support procurement and stocking strategies
- Coordinate with logistics providers, 3PL partners, and internal departments to ensure seamless materials flow
- Conduct financial analysis related to inventory valuation, procurement costs, and pricing models
- Utilize SQL and data collection techniques for comprehensive inventory reporting and analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting or materials handling activities
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse distribution, procurement, and logistics operations
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), SQL, and data analytics tools including Power BI, Tableau, and Nielsen
- Experience with inventory management software, demand planning tools like MRP systems, and materials management processes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis, financial modeling, and process improvement initiatives
- Effective negotiation skills for supplier management and sourcing activities
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment, contracts management, and retail or e-commerce environments
- Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety protocols
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and stock management
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain performance
This role is integral to maintaining efficient operations across our supply chain network. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach toward inventory control while leveraging data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
