About the Role:
The Prep Cook at the Main Clubhouse plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by preparing ingredients and ensuring that all food items are ready for cooking and service. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen, contributing to the overall dining experience of guests in the hospitality and tourism environment. The Prep Cook will be responsible for following recipes, portioning ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the prep area. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards are vital to ensure quality and consistency in every dish served. Ultimately, this role supports the kitchen staff in delivering timely, high-quality meals that meet the expectations of our guests and uphold the reputation of the Main Clubhouse.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Food Handler's Certification or equivalent food safety training.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and practices.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize duties effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and kitchen instructions.
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station and kitchen work areas.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support chefs and cooks by providing prepared ingredients promptly to facilitate efficient meal preparation.
- Dispose of waste properly and assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils.

The Prep Cook utilizes foundational culinary skills daily to prepare ingredients accurately and efficiently, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.
