As the Controller, you'll serve as a key financial leader, overseeing all accounting operations across multiple communities. You'll ensure financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and partner with our executive and community teams to drive performance and support our mission of providing exceptional care and service.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who loves to dig into the details while keeping the big picture in sight, someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and helping others understand the "why" behind the numbers.
What You'll Do
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital expenditure tracking.
- Support annual audits, tax preparation, and external reporting requirements.
- Partner with operations and leadership to provide actionable financial insights.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
- Play a key role in company-wide initiatives, process improvements, and strategic growth projects.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; multi-site or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, you can explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- A collaborative, hands-on leader who enjoys partnering with both finance and operations teams.
