Hostess Cashier

Job Summary

We are a small family run business seeking an energetic and friendly Host /Cashier to join our team In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, creating a positive first impression for every guest. Your responsibilities will include exceptional customer service, and efficiently handling cashier duties, taking orders over the counter and on the phone, managing the dining area and keeping it clean and well stocked, able to keep up with a fast pace environment with out being micromanaged.

Pay based on experience.

Hours of operation Tuesday - Saturday 10 am -2:30 pm

Duties

• Greet guests warmly with enthusiasm and genuine friendliness, setting a positive tone for their visit
• Handle cashier responsibilities accurately by processing payments through POS systems, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand and waiting areas to ensure a welcoming environment
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest needs and seating arrangements
• Provide excellent guest services by addressing inquiries promptly and courteously, demonstrating strong communication skills
• Uphold phone etiquette when taking reservations or answering guest questions over the phone
• Assist with guest relations by resolving concerns professionally and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit
• Support restaurant operations during busy periods by assisting with serving or other hospitality tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Previous host/host experience in a food service or restaurant setting preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant procedures beneficial
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—along with active listening abilities
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
• Basic phone etiquette skills for reservation management and guest inquiries

Pay: $8.00 - $24.26 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
