Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Design Electronic Project Engineer
to join our engineering team in
Owasso, Oklahoma
. This role will drive
design modifications, repair development, test capability development, and PCB-level troubleshooting
for a variety of aerospace electronic assemblies.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical and electronics engineering, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and a working knowledge of aerospace certification and compliance requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronic Design & Repair Development
- Develop and execute
design modifications, repair schemes, and reverse-engineered solutions
for electronic assemblies and LRUs. - Perform
circuit analysis, component selection, redesign, and documentation updates
to support DER/RS-DER, PMA, and repair development activities. - Conduct
simulations and modeling
to validate circuit behavior, signal integrity, and overall design reliability.
Test Capability Design & Development
- Design and develop
custom test equipment
, including test boxes, fixtures, harnesses, and automated test setups. - Create
test procedures, test plans, and validation requirements
for electronic components and assemblies. - Develop
bench-level diagnostic tools
, including custom scripts, PCB probing fixtures, and measurement workflows. - Support the build, integration, and qualification of new test equipment in alignment with DO-160 environmental and electrical requirements.
Troubleshooting & PCB Diagnostics
- Perform
PCB-level troubleshooting
, including signal tracing, component-level fault isolation, rework recommendations, and design corrections. - Utilize oscilloscopes, LCR meters, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to diagnose circuit failures.
- Support
root cause analysis
on failed units and contribute to Failure Review Boards.
Compliance & Documentation
- Create and maintain engineering documentation aligned with
DO-254, DO-160, AC 43-18, FAA Part 145, and PMA
requirements. - Collaborate with compliance engineering and DERs to ensure that designs, test methods, and repairs meet regulatory expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with
mechanical, software, and compliance engineering teams
, as well as shop technicians, quality, and supply chain. - Provide technical support during production, troubleshooting, and fielded unit evaluations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for engineering workflows, test capabilities, and documentation structure.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technologies or a related field
(minimum).
Technical Skills
- Strong foundation in core
electrical and electronics engineering principles
. - Hands-on experience with
troubleshooting electronic circuits and PCB assemblies
. - Familiarity with
simulation and modeling tools
(SPICE, LTspice, MATLAB, etc.). - Experience designing
test fixtures, test boxes, or automated test systems
is highly preferred. - Knowledge of
DO-254, DO-160, and other aerospace standards
is a strong plus. - Ability to interpret
schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams
