HR Generalist

Location:
Northbrook, IL | On-Site

Salary:
$65,000–$75,000 (Higher for exceptional candidates; bonus TBD)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide hands-on support across all areas of human resources at our manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with leadership, supervisors, and employees to ensure smooth HR operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a true HR generalist who thrives being involved in recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers across the facility.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and orientation for new hires.
  • Administer employee benefits, leaves of absence, and maintain HR documentation.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate reports as needed.
  • Handle employee relations issues with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Support performance management, training, and development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with safety program support, incident reporting, and worker's compensation processes.
  • Coordinate payroll changes and routine HR transactions.
  • Drive employee engagement and support company culture initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust and work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
