JOB SUMMARY

Provide overall leadership to ensure the quality process is implemented to meet the project schedule and to meet all company and owner standards. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required.

  1. Set the tone for quality process throughout the construction process, from preconstruction to closeout
  2. Ensure the quality management expectations are clearly communicated and tracked between field and office
  3. Take ownership for all quality aspects of day-to-day installations
  4. Proactively look ahead for tasks, perform inspections for potential challenges, identify areas requiring Quality focus or shifting of quality resources
  5. Ensure the field team is utilizing appropriate project tracking and reporting tools
  6. Ensure accuracy of data entered into the project-designated software and facilitate constant communication and updates toward issue resolution
  7. Coordinate resolution for non-conformance reports, observations, deficiencies, completion list and punch list logs
  8. Perform periodic audits of project quality documentation to ensure accuracy of the quality program's implementation
  9. Assist with maintaining records of certifications and accreditations
  10. Understand how to use and leverage project tools and technology to properly execute the quality program
  11. Ensure all project team members are aligned in the appropriate documentation of the quality effort
  12. Support inspection scheduling effort and provide estimated manpower needs for Inspections
  13. Ensure the quality process is carried out in the field to validate proper installation of materials
  14. Engage in the submittal review process and review ahead of installation to identify quality concerns and potential improvements
  15. Read and review drawings and specs in order to identify discrepancies and areas of concern in the design and installation
  16. Verify trade work plans are being followed
  17. Work with trade engineers to summarize contractual obligations related to quality for the trade partners 
  18. Provide goals and direction for project team
  19. Work with Preconstruction to ensure the project is appropriately set up to execute the quality requirements of the project
  20. Perform a qualitative review of all contract documents for potential conflicts or interpretation issues to mitigate risk
  21. Coordinate daily construction activities within existing operating facilities
  22. Understand local labor requirements, availability and capability for self-perform work
  23. Provide technical assistance to all members of project team
  24. Familiar with all policies and processes as it relates to this position
  25. Actively participates on internal team(s) that focus on continuous improvement of the business
  26. Develop and mentor subordinates towards a successful career with the company
  27. Promote the growth and development of client, subcontractor and vendor relationships

GENERAL BACKGROUND AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree in a construction related field, or relevant experience
  2. Two to three years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or five to seven years of construction-related experience
  3. Completion of OSHA 30 Hour Safety Course
  4. Knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements
  5. Current certifications for First Aid and CPR
  6. Generally, understand the essential job functions, duties, and responsibilities of a Quality Superintendent
  7. Proficient with scheduling software and current corporate software packages
  8. Demonstrated competency in these areas: managing site activity, labor relations anticipating and resolving field related issues, establishing and enforcing site schedule requirements, managing site safety and insurance risks, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate both written and oral, and leadership
  9. Proven competence and proficiency of position's essential job functions, duties and responsibilities on multiple assignments
  10. Diverse project experience with extensive management skills to lead and communicate to people both internal and external to the company
  11. Proven staff training abilities on technical issues as well as company policies and processes
