Senior Platform Engineer (Azure, Databricks, ETL, FastAPI, Agentic AI)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Azure cloud services, DevOps, FinOps, DataOps, Infrastructure engineering, and modern AI practices. The role involves designing, building, and operationalizing scalable data platforms and services, with a focus on Databricks, ETL pipelines, API development using Python and FastAPI, and embedding Agentic AI/Generative AI into DevOps workflows. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms on Azure.
• Operationalize Databricks clusters for analytics, ML workloads, and ETL pipelines.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure automation.

DevOps & Infrastructure

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep).
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks for platform health.
• Drive SRE practices for RCA, MTTR reduction, and resilience engineering.
• Integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI into DevOps workflows for intelligent RCA, anomaly detection, and automated remediation.

DataOps

• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance across the estate.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to embed reproducibility and transparency.

FinOps

• Implement cost attribution, showback/chargeback, and anomaly detection models.
• Optimize cloud spend across Azure services and Databricks workloads.
• Embed cost governance into Agile delivery workflows.

API Development

• Build and deploy Python FastAPI services to expose data pipelines and platform capabilities.
• Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and well‑documented.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Partner with stakeholders to translate abstract asks into actionable engineering backlogs.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to executive, technical, and non‑technical audiences.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills by working across cross‑functional teams.
• Document and share knowledge to foster engineering rigor and accountability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services (Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Functions, AKS).
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, MLflow).
• Expertise in ETL/ELT pipeline design (ADF, Spark, Kafka, or similar).
• Solid background in DevOps (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of FinOps frameworks for cloud cost optimization.
• Experience in DataOps practices (data quality, lineage, orchestration).
• Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python and experience building APIs with FastAPI.
• Exposure to Agentic AI and Generative AI frameworks (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain) applied to DevOps and operational intelligence.
• Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi‑cloud environments (Azure).
• Familiarity with ResOps for resilience and recovery frameworks.
• Exposure to enterprise modernization projects (legacy‑to‑cloud migration).
• Knowledge of agentic AI/LLM systems for operational intelligence and automated decision‑making.
