Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, POS systems such as Aloha and Micros, and possess strong skills in sales, upselling, and food handling. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, including quick service and fast food restaurants, cafés, or retail food establishments. The Cashier will be responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders efficiently
• Operate POS systems including Aloha and Micros to process transactions accurately
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform basic math calculations for change and totals
• Upsell menu items or products to increase sales opportunities
• Prepare simple food items as needed, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and dining area, including bussing tables when necessary
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies during shifts
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Support team members with food preparation or kitchen duties as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or retail is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus
• Basic math skills for cash handling and sales transactions
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with food preparation, food safety, sanitation, and serving is desirable
• Familiarity with quick service & fast food restaurant operations or café environments is advantageous
• Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
• Basic understanding of food industry standards including grocery store or restaurant experience is beneficial
