Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for setting up stations and preparing menu items to the exact menu specifications per the direction of the Kitchen Manager. This role is responsible for following the Kitchen Commandments in alignment with the One Well culture and preparing great food. Pay will include tips on top of base pay. Usually an extra $2.50 to $3.75 per hour based on business volume.
Essential Functions
- Motivated to work in the hospitality industry and interesting in increasing culinary knowledge.
- Ensure all foods are consistently plated timely according to the recipes, portioning, and cooking standards – measure all ingredients and seasoning.
- Prepare food for service by chopping vegetables, butchering meats, preparing sauces, etc.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously with consistency, timeliness, and high quality.
- Able to perform a variety of cooking methods with accuracy and speed under pressure.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Follow all Kitchen Control Systems and industry best practices – Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. Rotate food products using FIFO – first in, first out.
- Comply with nutritional and sanitation guidelines.
- Stock line inventory appropriately. Clean up station and take care of leftover foods.
- Monitor waste control by maintaining proper food storage/holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and report any issues to the Kitchen Managers or GM timely.
- Able to build relationships with not only kitchen staff, but also FOH.
- Follow appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment, and food storage areas.
- Highly motivated by performance, as well as community image and reputation.
- Good organization skills with attention to detail, quality, and follow through.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Works safely to ensure the wellbeing of co-workers and customers.
- Operates under the highest ethical standards.
- Plans ahead to ensure commitments are met, and arrive to work on time for all shifts or meetings.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent required; Training from a culinary school is a plus.
- A minimum of 1 year proven cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
- Able to work in a hot kitchen environment.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a kitchen and hospitality environment. The conditions can be noisy, crowded and highly physical. You may be asked to participate in events sponsored or managed by One Well at other locations.

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour
