The Mammography Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. They are responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and meeting all regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology.
Responsible for suggesting changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinating training and development in breast imaging specialties.
Adheres to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
Maintains appropriate records for all accreditation processes and inspections.
Maintains the structured reporting system to ensure accurate audit reporting, statistical tracking, and resolution of workflow issues.
Ensures completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures
Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
Ability to operate equipment consistent with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.
Reviews and documents the patient's medical history, obtains required informed consent, and ensures all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation.
Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
Obtains additional training or certification as required.
Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.

Required:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
