Seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our vibrant logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials throughout our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, ensuring efficient operations and accurate inventory. This position demands physical strength, a methodical approach to tasks, and a strong commitment to safety. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, requiring proper training and adherence to all operational guidelines. We are committed to maintaining a secure workplace; therefore, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and all safety regulations must be strictly followed. This role is a cornerstone of our logistics network, ensuring that supplies and finished goods move smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and equipment.
- Store materials in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Move materials to and from production, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
- Commitment to safety standards and use of PPE.
