Are you a skilled and safety-conscious individual? We have an exciting opportunity for a Forklift Operator in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Maintaining a safe and organized work environment is paramount. The ideal candidate will possess excellent operating skills, a strong commitment to Safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting. Experience with various types of forklifts is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials and products.
- Safely stack and store inventory in designated warehouse areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any issues or needed maintenance.
- Assist in order picking, packing, and shipping processes as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, orderly, and free from obstructions.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient logistics operations.
- Participate in training to improve skills and knowledge of warehouse procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced logistics environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
