We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of goods into and out of our facility. You will be responsible for accurately documenting, receiving, and dispatching shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring that all products are handled with care. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your primary focus will be on accuracy, timeliness, and upholding our high standards for safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and report any discrepancies.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and ensure proper storage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including accurate labeling, packing, and documentation.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors regarding shipments.
- Lift and move heavy items as required, adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Contribute to a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines.
