Join our growing logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Forklift Operator! We are looking for a skilled and safety-oriented professional to manage the movement of materials within our state-of-the-art facility. Your primary responsibilities will include operating various types of forklifts, loading and unloading trailers, and ensuring accurate inventory placement. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of goods and upholding our high standards for efficiency and Safety. You'll be a key player in our supply chain operations, ensuring that products reach their destinations without delay or damage. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles and ensure proper staging.
- Conduct routine checks on forklift equipment and report any issues promptly to maintenance.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through proper handling and storage.
- Keep the warehouse clean and orderly, ensuring aisles and safety exits are clear.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while on the warehouse floor.
- Must be capable of regular Lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Be a proactive participant in team meetings and contribute to process improvements in logistics.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Certification or ability to certify as a forklift operator.
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and Safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to handle frequent Lifting and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
