We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our busy Houston, Texas distribution center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. This role is crucial to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring the timely completion of operational tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to Safety , and a keen understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics . You must be able to operate various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment with precision and care. Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus. Your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions will be key to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, stack, and arrange goods.
- Inspect and perform basic maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and loading docks.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and Logistics .
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of equipment operating Safety procedures and the importance of PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
