We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading trucks, as well as ensuring the accurate and timely staging of goods for shipment. This role is crucial to our daily warehouse operations and requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics. You will also be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on the warehouse floor. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Move, stack, and relocate inventory within the warehouse.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must wear required PPE.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory management systems.
