Senior Design Engineer
to join our New Product Development team. This is a key technical role where youll help shape innovative, safe, and compliant medical devices used around the world. What youll be doing
As a Senior Design Engineer, youll provide hands-on technical expertise across the full product lifecycle. Your day-to-day work will include: Designing and developing medical devices from proven concept through to market release
Ensuring designs are robust, safe, compliant, and cost-effective
Applying system-level thinking, risk management, and best engineering practices
Creating and maintaining Design History Files (DHF), including DFMEA, verification, validation, and usability documentation
Working closely with manufacturers to optimise designs for manufacturability
Planning and conducting verification and validation testing (including ISIR where required)
Capturing engineering data and decisions within the PLM system
Collaborating with cross-functional and international teams
Continuously developing your skills and supporting a culture of quality and improvement
What were looking for
Essential BSc degree in Product Design, Engineering, or a related science discipline
Strong experience applying engineering principles and problem-solving techniques
Experience compiling Technical Files for medical devices
Solid knowledge of extruded and moulded component design
Familiarity with ISO 13485, MDR and/or FDA regulations
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or another 3D CAD package
Good understanding of statistics and engineering maths
Basic project management experience
Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills
A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail
Desirable Experience with usability engineering files
Basic electronics knowledge and familiarity with IEC 60601
MATLAB or FEA experience
Basic programming (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
Experience using AI tools to boost productivity
Experience collaborating with overseas engineering teams
