Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin? We are hiring! This role is essential to our warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will operate forklifts to transport materials within the facility, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. Our logistics operations depend on reliable and experienced operators like you. You will be responsible for conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, and working collaboratively with the warehouse team. Accuracy in handling products and adherence to safety protocols are critical.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers efficiently.
- Stack and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Experience with heavy lifting and moving items up to 70 lbs is beneficial.
- Support overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrable experience.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
