Power Electronics Engineer
We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer with 5-15 years of experience. This engineer will design, develop, test, and implement electronic hardware for power and control applications, often focusing on converting and managing electrical power. This role involves working with analog circuits, components, and systems, including DC/DC and AC/DC converters.
Core Responsibilities
Design and Development:
Design power electronic circuits, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Design custom magnetics including transformers, inductors, and chokes
- Develop prototypes and test designs to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Design and implement control circuitry for various power topologies.
Select components and specify electrical requirements for power systems.
Analysis and Simulation:
Perform simulations and theoretical analysis to optimize designs and ensure components can handle stress.
- Understand and analyze power conversion topologies and their performance characteristics. Topologies include Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC, PFC, and Forward based converters.
Control loop simulation to ensure stable power systems
Testing and Validation:
Test and validate power electronic systems and subsystems.
- Perform bench tests and instrumentation to verify design specifications. Proficient with various lab equipment including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, network analyzers and power sources.
- Debug electronic boards and resolve any issues that arise during testing.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- 5–15 years of hands-on experience in power electronics design and development.
