Position Overview:
The
Senior Manager of Software Engineering
will oversee multiple software teams responsible for developing mobile and web applications, energy management platforms, and user interfaces for smart energy devices. This role will work closely with firmware, product, and design teams to deliver integrated solutions that support energy monitoring, control, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, technical depth, and a strategic mindset to scale engineering efforts and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- :Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior developers across multiple software teams
- .Oversee development of mobile apps, web platforms, and UI/UX for energy monitoring devices and gateways
- .Collaborate with firmware teams to ensure robust integration between embedded systems and software layers
- .Guide architecture and implementation of energy platforms, dashboards, and APIs
- .Ensure support for industrial protocols such as MODBUS and integration with VPPs and distributed energy systems
- .Drive adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
- .Align engineering efforts with business strategy and product roadmaps
- .Manage hiring, resource planning, and professional development across teams
- .Represent engineering in cross-functional leadership discussions and technical reviews
.Qualifications
- :Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- .7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a management role
- .Proven experience leading teams building mobile apps, web platforms, and energy-related software
- .Strong understanding of embedded systems and firmware collaboration
- .Experience with MODBUS, API integrations, dashboards, and VPP technologies
- .Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms
- .Proficiency in C++, AngularJS, and modern development frameworks
- .Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
.Preferred Qualifications
- :Experience in energy management systems, smart grid technologies, or IoT platforms
- .Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and DevOps pipelines
- .Knowledge of compliance and security standards for energy software
- .Ability to interface with customers, utilities, and regulatory bodies
