Annual Salary Range: $90k - $98k DOE

At City Rise Traffic, we provide high quality traffic control safety services to construction job sites, such as Flagging traffic through a work site, Lane Closures to divert traffic, or Detouring traffic to reduce traffic congestion and prevent accidents. Position Summary:

The Senior Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and dispatching daily traffic control jobs and crews. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to schedulers within the region to ensure jobs and technicians are assigned accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. This position reports into our Fremont location. 

Key Responsibilities:


•    Respond to incoming calls, voicemails, and emails promptly, professionally, and with a customer-focused approach.
•    Oversee the accurate intake, documentation, and entry of job orders into the dispatch scheduling system, ensuring completeness and alignment with operational standards.
•    Lead the scheduling and dispatching of traffic control personnel, assigning resources based on employee experience, certifications, jobsite requirements, geographic considerations, and utilization analytics.
•    Conduct comprehensive jobsite assessments—virtual or in person—to determine proper job classification, staffing levels, and equipment needs.
•    Review and interpret traffic control plans, permits, and project requirements to ensure proper crew deployment and regulatory compliance.
•    Monitor active jobs and proactively follow up to verify job accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational completion.
•    Coordinate closely with the Inventory Department to identify equipment needs, confirm availability, and ensure timely field delivery.
•    Partner with the Sales Team to support customer onboarding, clarify project requirements, and contribute to an exceptional service experience.
•    Communicate clear job expectations and requirements to field technicians to ensure readiness, safety, and alignment with customer specifications.
•    Reconcile daily job schedules, maintaining a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and operational transparency.
•    Communicate schedule changes and operational updates promptly across the dispatch team and relevant departments.
•    Uphold and enforce company policies, procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards across all scheduling and dispatch activities.
•    Ensure all scheduling practices are compliant with applicable union contract language and company-specific labor requirements.
•    Leverage internal systems, software platforms, and reporting tools to manage jobs, track assets, optimize resource allocation, and improve workflow efficiency.
•    Review operational KPIs, utilization reports, and dispatch metrics to drive continuous improvement and ensure department goals are consistently met or exceeded.
•    Participate in after-hours or emergency dispatch coverage as part of a scheduled rotation.
•    Provide guidance, motivation, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
•    Perform additional duties and special assignments in support of departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications
•    High school diploma or equivalent required.
•    Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior dispatch scheduling role or equivalent.
•    Minimum 3 years of experience in traffic control or a closely related industry.
•    Experience interpreting and working with traffic control plans is preferred.
•    ATSSA TCT (Traffic Control Technician) and TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor) certifications required; training can be facilitated for the right candidate.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Telematics platforms, Salesforce, and related scheduling software.
•    Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
•    Proven problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.
•    Ability to remain calm, pleasant, and customer-focused under pressure.
•    Positive attitude and resilience in the face of challenges or change.
•    Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.
•    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand setting.
•    Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and respond to emergency dispatch needs as required.
•    Familiarity with leveraging KPI's, data, and reports to make informed strategic scheduling decisions.
•    Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
•    Valid California Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record required.

Physical Requirements:
•    Being able to sit for prolonged periods of time
•    Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
