Job Summary
Sterling Therapy Solutions is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time contract assignment in Redding, California. If you love helping patients find their voice—literally and figuratively—this assignment offers a meaningful caseload, great daytime hours, and the chance to work with an exceptional care team in an acute-care environment.
Blended Roles & Responsibilities
(A polished combination of VMS job expectations + Sterling customizations)
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations for adult and geriatric acute-care patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and interdisciplinary input.
- Provide evidence-based therapy for dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, and related conditions.
- Document evaluations, therapy notes, and progress reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT/OT teams, dietary, and case management to support coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and rehabilitation plans.
- Maintain compliance with facility procedures, state regulations, and national standards of practice.
- Manage caseload efficiently while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Demonstrate independence working in a fast-paced acute-care setting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of SLP experience, specifically in an acute-care setting.
- Strong background in dysphagia management, cognitive-linguistic therapy, and speech-language diagnostics.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship (CF) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- Active California SLP license required.
- Active BLS (AHA) required.
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility mandate.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in conducting bedside swallow evaluations and providing swallowing therapy.
- Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and prioritize care.
- Strong documentation accuracy and familiarity with healthcare EMR systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a medical team.
