Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Server/Cashier to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. The Server/Cashier will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests while efficiently handling cashier duties in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in food preparation, POS systems, or the food industry is a plus, but we welcome motivated candidates eager to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in hospitality, sales, and food safety within a vibrant café or quick-service setting.
Duties
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as CloverPOS or Wawio POS
- Prepare and serve food items according to safety and quality standards
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations and dining spaces
- Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and ensuring a clean environment for guests
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service to ensure guest satisfaction
- Follow proper food safety protocols and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support team members with various tasks as needed in a fast-paced restaurant or café setting
Skills
- Previous experience in food service, quick service & fast food restaurants, or retail environments is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Clover POS or Wawio POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or transactions efficiently
- Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not required
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities in a busy restaurant or café setting
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
