W. A. Hoy Construction, Inc. focuses on commercial and industrial concrete construction. Our company typically takes the entire concrete package on a project. Projects range from $100,000 to $4,000,000.
The right candidate must have experience with commercial concrete construction .
Experience:
- Construction Management Major
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare contracts and negotiating revisions
- Prepare & maintain a company schedule for all contracted work.
- Review project proposals and plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for project completion, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources.
- Develop, manage, and adhere to construction schedules in collaboration with field leadership
- Attend pre-construction meetings and distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel
- Work with Clients to understand their construction goals and needs
- Attend project field meetings
- Prepare submittals, submittal status, release and delivery
- Reviews and adjusts WIP reports on a monthly basis
- Works closely with Superintendents
- Resolves problems
- Determines needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Purchases material and supplies for projects to ensure proper delivery arrangements
- Inspects all project work sites to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Formulates change orders in a timely manner for payments
- Review project progress to ensure the team is following scope requirements
- Coordinates and monitors all changes pertaining to scope of work
- Prepare and file all purchase orders and subcontracts
- Review and approve all project invoices
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and jobs at once
- Good verbal and written communication skills to develop and foster strong customer relations
- Obtains permits, licenses, and PA One Calls as needed
- Evaluates project progress and reports to management regularly.
The ideal candidate will be a versatile employee with the ability to handle multiple construction projects, work well with other employees in a team atmosphere, be approachable, and able to establish and maintain lasting relationships.

- Communication skills. Confidence in communicating matters of importance such as scope of work, delays, and safety concerns.
- Ability to listen and speak to others in a clear manner.
- Time management skills to ensure projects run smoothly and deadlines are met.
- Technical skills to interpret construction methods, contracts, and drawings.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Workmax, Excel, Word, Email, and others as required.
- A strong ability to work within a budget and timetables.
- OSHA 10 certification is required.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Related Experience:
- Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics, common fractions, and decimals is required
- Construction Estimating Software is preferred
- Construction Accounting Software is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70, $100,000.00 per year
