Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver psychotherapy (individual, group, family) using evidence-based practices for mental health and co-occurring disorders.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and Medicaid-compliant documentation including therapy notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries per NMAC and BHSD documentation standards.
- Participate in clinical supervision (as applicable), case reviews, and ongoing professional development activities required by BHSD and licensing boards.
- Utilize trauma-informed care principles, culturally competent practices, and person-centered approaches in all clinical interactions.
- Screen and assess for risk, including suicide, self-harm, and abuse/neglect, and respond according to DRGMED protocols and New Mexico CYFD/BHSD regulations.
- Collaborate with care coordinators, primary care providers, psychiatric practitioners, and other service providers as part of an integrated care model.
- Deliver services via HIPAA-compliant telehealth (POS 02), adhering to New Mexico Medicaid Telehealth Policy and BHSD guidance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
- Active New Mexico license in good standing as:
- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPCC, LPAT, Psychologist, or LMFT. Active NM licensure
- Must be eligible to provide services to Medicaid beneficiaries under NMAC and BHSD rules.
- Minimum 1 year of experience providing psychotherapy or behavioral health services (may include supervised experience).
- Knowledge of New Mexico Medicaid billing, documentation standards, and managed care expectations (training provided if needed).
- Proficiency in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, EMDR, CBT/DBT, or other relevant evidence-based therapies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or Native American languages.
- Experience with clients involved in probation, CYFD, homelessness, or SUD recovery.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
Work Environment & Compliance
- Services may be delivered via telehealth, in accordance with Medicaid and BHSD standards.
- Must adhere to HIPAA, CFR 42 Part 2 (for SUD), and all applicable NM regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
- All contracted or employed therapists are required to attend quarterly compliance training and maintain continuing education hours per NM licensure requirements.
