Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience in various food service environments. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced setting, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Prior experience in fine dining, catering, or the food industry is highly valued, along with a strong understanding of menu planning and meal preparation.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and consistency
- Handle food safely and maintain proper sanitation practices throughout food preparation
- Perform food handling duties including chopping, slicing, marinating, and plating
- Support kitchen operations by managing multiple stations during service periods
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Assist with catering events or special functions as needed
- Ensure all food service activities comply with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurant or food service settings
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Fine dining experience or restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Prior experience with catering or serving is advantageous
