Our dynamic logistics operation in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team. In this crucial role, you will ensure that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for dispatch, playing a key part in our logistics success. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipment details against orders, selecting appropriate packaging materials, accurately weighing and labeling packages, and preparing shipping manifests. You will work closely with carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely departures. Maintaining organized shipping areas and accurate records is essential for operational efficiency and to meet delivery deadlines. Strict adherence to all company safety policies, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment. This role requires good organizational skills and the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting up to 30 pounds. We are looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment. Prior experience in shipping or logistics is highly desirable. We are committed to providing a safe and productive workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Verify shipment contents and details against shipping orders.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure secure packing of goods.
- Weigh and measure packages accurately.
- Apply correct shipping labels and postage/freight information.
- Prepare and reconcile shipping manifests and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Ensure shipping areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and use designated PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipments.
- Assist with other logistics and warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
