The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for a variety of medical and Health Coordination services under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Medical Director.
*DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Refer for routine emergencies based upon client’s current needs.
* Screen and assess the health status of individuals applying for admission to the agency’s programs.
* Monitor medication(s) taken as prescribed to clients by physician and accurately record medication in logbook.
* Monitor infection control procedures in accordance with agency policy.
* Provide in-service training to all staff surrounding medical issues.
* Provides emergency medical care as needed.
* Maintains accurate medical records in compliance with licensing/certification standards.
* On-site drug testing.
* Provide education, risk reduction, counseling and intervention to all patients regarding communicable diseases and other medical conditions.
*EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:*
* New York State Professional Nursing License.
* Graduate of accredited Nursing Program.
* Knowledge of professional nursing practices and techniques.
* A minimum of one (1) year prior nursing experience in a therapeutic community, ambulatory health clinic, hospital or related health care institution. Previous relevant nursing experience preferred.
* Professional, mature and reliable.
* Organized and knowledge of maintaining medical records.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
