*Description of Work: *This position provides speech-language pathology services on a contract basis with school districts (K-12) in Upstate, South Carolina. The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive evaluations, consultations, direct treatments, and complete applicable paperwork within the school system. School contracts are based on a 180 day school calendar.
*Training & Experience Requirements: *Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and required supervised experience as required by the SC licensing statute. Possession of a current and valid certification (CCC) issued by the board of examiners for speech and language pathologist and audiologist preferred. CF candidates and SLPAs will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students to improve their communication skills
- Provide therapy and intervention to students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate services
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Educate families on strategies to improve communication skills at home
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Knowledge of terminology and physiology related to speech and language disorders
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills to evaluate student needs accurately
- Ability to develop and implement effective plans based on individual student goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and administration
- Experience working in school is a plus
